May 21, 2025 | Washington, D.C. — Former President Donald J. Trump has unveiled an ambitious new missile defense proposal called the “Golden Dome,” a system he claims will surpass Israel’s Iron Dome in both scale and technological sophistication. Speaking at a campaign rally in Florida, Trump described the initiative as “the most powerful and impenetrable defense system the world has ever seen.”
According to Trump, the Golden Dome will be designed to intercept a wide range of threats—including hypersonic missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and even space-launched projectiles—making it the first missile shield of its kind with a “space-aware” capability.
“This will be a dome of peace, a shield of safety—golden, not just in strength, but in innovation,” Trump declared. “It’ll be bigger, better, and more beautiful than anything the world has ever built. Nothing will get through. Not from land, not from sea, not from space.”
While Trump offered few technical details, he stated that the project would leverage artificial intelligence, advanced radar systems, and satellite integration to create a multi-layered defense network. The Golden Dome would reportedly be developed in partnership with private aerospace companies and the U.S. military, and is expected to cost hundreds of billions of dollars.
National security analysts have expressed skepticism about the feasibility and cost of such a system, especially given the logistical complexity of intercepting space-launched weapons. However, Trump supporters have lauded the plan as a bold response to emerging threats from countries such as China, Russia, and North Korea.
“If anyone can build it, it’s Trump,” one supporter said at the rally. “He built the wall, he can build the dome.”
The Golden Dome proposal is likely to become a central pillar of Trump’s 2024 campaign platform as he seeks to return to the White House with a promise to restore America’s global dominance in defense and technology.
Further details and official plans have yet to be release.
