Elon Musk’s sorry for his Trump tweets—guess calling him an Epstein pal was a bit much! 😅 Want the juicy details of their X feud?

Oops! Elon Musk Walks Back His Digital Punch-Ups with The Donald

Well, well, well, look who’s got a case of social media remorse! Our favorite X-trawagan Elon Musk declared on Wednesday that he’s officially regretting some of his recent verbal jousts with President Donald Trump. Apparently, even digital titans can go a little too far with their keyboard warriors.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk humbly (or perhaps strategically) posted on X. This sudden shift in tone comes after a rather public and spectacular meltdown of their bromance. These two big personalities have been trading online barbs like it’s a prime-time reality show.

You see, not so long ago, Musk was practically Trump’s government BFF, even co-heading the Department of Government Efficiency where he masterminded federal worker layoffs. Ah, simpler times. But then, the love affair hit a snag when Musk decided to critique Trump’s “massive tax cut and domestic policy bill,” hilariously labeling it a “disgusting abomination” that would, you know, mess with the US government’s piggy bank. He even dug up old comments from Trump and other Republicans about spending and deficits, because nothing says “I’m mad” like a good old-fashioned archival dig.

The Epstein Files and Other Digital Shenanigans

Then things got really spicy. Among Musk’s recent X-rated tweets was the bold claim that Trump would have been a presidential election loser without him. But the real showstopper, the tweet that sent shockwaves through the internet, was his suggestion that Trump is “in” the infamous Jeffrey Epstein files. (Quick reminder: Epstein was a convicted pedophile who inconveniently died in jail before facing sex trafficking charges. And for the record, just being mentioned in those files doesn’t automatically mean you’re guilty of anything.) Of course, Musk didn’t bother to provide any evidence for this bombshell, because why let facts get in the way of a good tweet?

Meanwhile, over on his own digital playground, Truth Social, Trump fired back, threatening to yank government contracts and subsidies from Musk’s companies. Ouch. He then played it cool (or tried to), telling CNN’s Dana Bash that he was “not even thinking about Elon” and wouldn’t be speaking to him “for a while.”

However, in a pre-recorded episode of the New York Post‘s “Pod Force One” podcast, Trump revealed he “was disappointed” in Musk. But don’t worry, he held “no hard feelings” against the Tesla CEO, adding he “was really surprised” by the tax cut criticism. “I don’t know what his problem is, really, I don’t know. I haven’t thought too much about him in the last little while,” Trump mused, sounding like a bewildered parent whose favorite child just drew on the wall.

The Great Thaw: From Feud to “Make Peace”

Looks like the digital cold war is thawing. In recent days, Musk has been doing his best impression of an ice cube melting, deleting some of his more fiery X posts, including the Epstein jab and another that suggested Trump should be impeached. Even last Friday, when the feud was hotter than a summer day in Texas, Musk gave a thumbs-up to a post by billionaire investor Bill Ackman, who urged the two titans to “make peace.” Musk, ever the diplomat, said Ackman was “not wrong.”

He’s even seemingly back on board with the Trump administration’s tough stance on protests, posting American flags in response to a Vice President JD Vance tweet about “rioting and violence.” Because nothing says “I’m with you, bro” like a patriotic emoji. Turns out, Musk has always been a fan of closed borders and deportations, aligning perfectly with Trump’s immigration playbook.

In his Wednesday mea culpa, Musk conveniently omitted which specific comments he was regretting. Perhaps it was all of them? And adding to the reconciliation chorus, his father, Errol Musk (who apparently knows a thing or two about strained relationships), chimed in, telling a Russian newspaper that his son had “made a mistake” fighting with the president. “Trump will prevail. He is the president,” Errol sagely noted. He even predicted a reunion, saying, “It’s just a small thing. It will be over tomorrow.” Let’s hope so, Errol, because we’re running out of popcorn.

So, will these two Twitter-happy heavyweights bury the hatchet for good, or is this just a temporary truce before the next digital dust-up? Stay tuned for the next episode of “As the Tweets Turn!”
