The event, held in the historic East Garden, brought together dozens of children whose parents work in various government agencies.
Mrs. Trump spent time engaging with the children, assisting them in a hands-on activity decorating American flags. With tables set up under white canopies and red, white, and blue decorations adorning the garden, the First Lady encouraged creativity while speaking with the children about patriotism and the meaning of the flag.
