Melania Trump Visits Children’s Hospital, Spreads Kindness and Patriotism on Eve of July 4th

On the eve of America’s birthday, First Lady Melania Trump made a heartwarming visit to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. The occasion blended joy, compassion, and patriotic spirit as she met with young patients and took part in Independence Day preparations.

Bearing armfuls of teddy bears, books, and cozy blankets, Mrs. Trump sat with children and shared personal moments — discussing favorite sports, foods, and family. When asked about golf, she responded with a smile: “No, I don’t play, but I’ve tried it with Donald.”

The First Lady then stepped into a familiar space: the Bunny Mellon Healing Garden, which she helped inaugurate in 2017. There, alongside a group of children, she helped decorate the area with red, white, and blue-themed ornaments — from windmills to miniature U.S. flags.

In a symbolic gesture, she unveiled a newly planted yellow rose dubbed the “External Flame,” described as highly fragrant and meant to be a lasting reminder of resilience and care.

Every child received a gift bag with a teddy bear sporting a “Be Best” T-shirt — a nod to her signature initiative for children’s well-being. Mrs. Trump also paid a quiet, private visit to a 3-year-old patient in the hospital’s heart and kidney unit.

For Melania Trump, the visit to Children’s National was more than ceremonial. It was personal — one of many such stops she’s made during her time as First Lady, especially around major holidays.

Later in the day, she was expected to reunite with President Trump at the White House to meet with Edan Alexander, the last American hostage freed from captivity in Gaza.

In a time marked by political division, the First Lady’s visit offered a brief, poignant reminder of kindness, service, and the power of human connection.
