Palm Springs Fertility Clinic Bombing: Suspect Identified as ‘Pro-Mortalist’ Guy Edward Bartkus

A deadly bombing outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, has left four people injured and claimed the life of the suspected perpetrator. Authorities have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Guy Edward Bartkus of Twentynine Palms, California.

According to officials, Bartkus set off a car bomb near the entrance of the American Reproductive Centers clinic. The blast caused substantial damage to the facility and surrounding area, shattering windows and sending debris across the street. No patients or embryos were harmed, as the clinic had no scheduled appointments at the time of the explosion.

Investigators revealed that Bartkus held extreme “pro-mortalist” and anti-natalist beliefs, opposing birth and reproduction on philosophical grounds. A manifesto and a pre-recorded audio message were found at the scene, detailing his motivations for the attack. He had reportedly attempted to livestream the bombing, but the video failed to upload.

Authorities believe Bartkus acted alone. A search of his home uncovered additional weapons and writings that echoed the ideology laid out in his recordings. The FBI and local law enforcement are continuing to investigate his background and any online activities that may reveal further context or connections.

The incident has reignited national debates about the security of reproductive healthcare providers and the potential for ideologically motivated violence. Officials condemned the attack and assured the public that support would be provided to victims and affected families.
