May 30, 2025 — Former U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly condemned an act of vandalism at one of his premier golf resorts in Scotland, calling for those responsible to be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The incident, which occurred overnight at Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire, involved significant property damage, including defaced signage, spray-painted buildings, and damage to greens. Local authorities have launched a full investigation.
In a statement released early Friday, Trump said, “This was a disgraceful and cowardly act of destruction carried out by individuals with no respect for property, business, or the rule of law. We will not tolerate this kind of behavior.”
Trump also urged Scottish law enforcement to act swiftly: “The perpetrators must be caught and brought to justice without delay. This is an attack not only on our resort but on the principles of order and decency.”
While no group has claimed responsibility, some speculate the act may have been politically motivated. The resort has been a frequent target of protests due to Trump’s controversial political stances and past comments on Scottish politics.
Scottish police are reviewing security footage and asking witnesses to come forward. The resort remains open, and management has pledged to repair the damages immediately.
The incident comes amid heightened political tension in the U.K. and as Trump continues to maintain a high-profile presence internationally following his 2024 re-election.
