K9 Thor is a 14-month-old German Shepherd who’s about to embark on an incredible journey with his handler, K9 Specialist Jordan, as they work together to become a fully certified patrol team. Over the next few months, Thor and Specialist Jordan will undergo rigorous training, learning the skills they’ll need to serve and protect our community.
What makes Thor’s arrival even more special is the incredible support from our local community. The purchase of K9 Thor was made possible thanks to the hard work and generosity of Sarah Davidson from The Pet Haven and Mark Richards from Citywide Security, who together organized a successful fundraising event earlier this year. Their goal was to raise the necessary funds to bring a new K-9 to our department after we tragically lost K9 Bella and K9 Max in 2024. The community’s outpouring of support during that difficult time has truly been overwhelming, and we’re so grateful to have such passionate people backing our department.
While the loss of K9 Bella and K9 Max left a hole in our hearts, we know that K9 Thor will honor their legacy and carry on their brave work. His addition to the team symbolizes not only our resilience but also the power of community. K9 Thor may be young, but with the right training and the unwavering support of his handler, he’s going to become a force to be reckoned with.
